Yusuf is the co-founder of QM Lawyers and is committed to providing high-quality legal advice with integrity and is passionate about fighting for the underdog.

Yusuf grew up in Melbourne’s northern suburbs and has strong ties to the local community, particularly the African diaspora. Before practising as a lawyer, Yusuf worked in the banking and tertiary education sectors in Melbourne and London.

Prior to QM Lawyers, Yusuf worked at West Heidelberg Legal Service and in private practice with Mahir. He was trained under the Victoria Legal Aid’s New Lawyer Program in a wide range of practice areas, with a focus in criminal law and advocacy. He continues to work in the community legal sector in the Police Accountability Project at Flemington & Kensington Legal Service, where he focuses on racialised policing.

Yusuf understands that legal services intersect with support services and has built and maintained extensive networks with grassroots community organisations, youth support services, healthcare providers, relevant experts, academics and other stakeholders in litigious matters.

Yusuf has acted for clients in a wide range of litigious matters including defamation, owner’s corporation, discrimination, contractual, property and intellectual property disputes.

In his spare time, Yusuf enjoys playing and watching soccer, and in particular his favourite team Liverpool FC. His enthusiasm for soccer has led him to join the Football Victoria as a Tribunal Member adjudicating disciplinary conduct. Yusuf also enjoys camping and hiking throughout Victoria.
